Your Trailer's axle or axles are one of its most important structural components. Perhaps more than any other part an axle determines the capacity and identity of the trailer around it.
The types of axles
Spring or Sprung axles are the most common type of trailer axle, recognizable by their arching leaf springs bridging the axle to the frame. Spring axles can come in round tube or square tube, with a variety of drop heights for both.
The other major type of axle is a Torsion Axle, with its distinct torsion arm linking the hub to the axle beam at an offset. Torsion axles utilize an internal rubber suspension.
