Trailer brakes are integral for safety and preventing excess wear and tear to your tow vehicle. In most of the United States they are also required by law.

Available options

Trailer brakes come in a variety of configurations. Drum Brakes vs Disk Brakes. Electric vs Hydraulic. Forward Self Adjusting, Free backing, ABS. When repairing or replacing Brakes knowing what you're dealing with is paramount. Our experts can identify all of these options and more with a cursory inspection of components or pictures.

Rebuild it

At Trailer Tech we stock complete backing plates for ease of installation. We also stock a variety of repair components such as shoes, magnets, lever arms, cylinders, calipers, and springs for the mechanically savvy tower. If we ever don't have exactly what you need, we'll do what it takes to find it and order it in for you.

Brake Controllers

Take Control

Electric Brake systems as well as Electric-over-Hydraulic systems require a brain to tell the trailer when to apply the brakes. This brake controller is typically installed in the cab of the tow vehicle, mounted to the dashboard. Some newer brake controllers can be installed either permanently or removably in line with the electrical connection to the trailer and controlled via bluetooth from a smart device, removing the need for a permanent alteration to your vehicle's dash. Trailer Tech stocks top of the line brake controllers to give you the peace of mind that your brakes will be functioning properly.

Break Away Systems

Emergency Protection

When the worst happens and you suffer a disconnect from your Trailer while driving a Break Away System can save not only your trailer but lives as well. A hydraulic brake system will have an emergency break away cable integrated into the hydraulic actuator. For electric brake systems the break away takes the form of a small battery inside of a box wired to a pull pin controlled switch, all attached to the tongue of the trailer. We here at Trailer Tech are proud to offer this important safety feature.
